The Davino's Family History of Tradition

Our great grandfather, Luigi Davino, came from a region near Naples, Italy. He arrived in the USA in 1909. He opened a small bakery in Chicago's Little Italy- Taylor Street area. Neighborhood women brought their dough to bake their bread in his brick oven. He started our family tradition of Italian men cooking and using the finest and freshest ingredients. He would cook Sunday dinner for his sons and friends. Luigi's son Ralph ("Jut" as he was called) owned a small restaurant next door to the son Roger. Roger perfected all of the family recipes and developed many more. Jut, Roger and Mark (Roger's son) cooked countless meals together for holidays, special occasions as well as Sunday dinners. The bond that united them was cooking, family, and love.

Today we believe that Mista is setting a new standard of excellence using fresh, organic and natural ingredients to promote healthy living. The Davino Family has been perfecting the art of old world recipes with new world styles and taste for four generations.
